We developed a Revit-integrated configurator that allows architects and designers to build tailored Revit families for office partition systems. Users can select dimensions, materials, connection types, door styles, and more — with the output being native Revit families ready for immediate use in projects.

Problem

Architects and designers often struggle to get accurate Revit content for partition systems — generic models lack detail, and manufacturers rarely provide native parametric families. As a result, products are either modeled incorrectly or replaced with alternatives, leading to lost deals and coordination issues.

Solution

The solution allows users to define key system parameters — wall height, thickness, panel infill, frame style, door type, handle position, and connection type. The system then dynamically builds Revit families that match selected configurations and comply with manufacturer standards. The output is ready-to-use BIM content that architects can place directly into their models.

Final solution includes:

  • Template families updating logic from the cloud database
  • User-friendly interface with the ability to preview a family look during the configuration process
